Pointing out what specifically inspired me to make the Crystalline Collection is kind of a challenge. I guess it was something about the different atmospheres that surround me, especially the changing seasons.
I’m very fascinated with the incredible effects of nature that sometimes appear artificially made. You even come across graphic patterns; the surface of the sea connecting with the light of the sun and creating the most beautiful glittering light effects; the construction of a snowflake, a pattern of tiny ice crystals in perfect symmetry.
The fact that something so elemental as nature can create that kind of small miracles is very captivating. Focusing on the graphical aspect, I've tried to use this inspiration in the new jewelry collection.
The tiny “crystals” of the jewelry are inspired by the Knockles and Mini Knockles rings. I wanted to work with that same shape, downscaling it to miniature size and playing with different combinations and constructions - and a beautiful effect like the glittering sea appeared.
Just like nature can be unpredictable, peculiar and asymmetric, combining the Crystalline collection in different ways can give a little touch of that vivid effect.
For instance the Crystalline Petite in one ear and Crystalline Galore in the other. It lets you add a bit of movement and sparkle to the jewelry, and also invites you to wear it in your own way.
